Position Summary
Our client, a precision aerospace and defense manufacturer, is seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to support high-tolerance machining operations. This individual will be responsible for first article, in-process, and final inspections and must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, detail-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Perform first article inspections (FAI) and complete all required documentation
- Conduct in-process and final inspections on machined components
- Perform layout inspections using surface plate setups
- Inspect parts using micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, thread gauges, and other precision tools
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T requirements
- Ensure parts meet tight tolerance and customer specifications
- Maintain inspection records and support quality documentation
- Assist with calibration processes and gage control
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the quality function
Requirements
- 5+ years of quality inspection experience (aerospace preferred)
- Strong GD&T and blueprint reading skills required
- Surface plate experience required (layout and setup work)
- Experience with first article, in-process, and final inspection required
- Proficiency with micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and bore gauges
- Experience with thread inspection (beyond basic Go/No-Go)
- Familiarity with Gage R&R studies is a plus
- CMM experience is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
Schedule and Pay
- Schedule: 1st Shift | Monday-Friday 6:00am-4:30pm | Friday 6:00am-3:30pm. Optional 5 hours OT Saturday.
- Pay: $25.00-$35.00 hourly, DOE
- Employment Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire
