Job Summary

We are seeking a MiG Welder to join our team in Lancaster, SC. This position requires the welding of parts as assigned to meet customer specifications, production schedules, and recognized industry welding standards.  


Responsibilities

  • Weld parts to meet customer specifications and production and quality standards.
  • Verify welds meet specifications per drawings and work orders by visual inspection and use of measuring tools.
  • Follow all instructions provided by work orders.
  • Record all production data by use of Company software (Mietrak) including work order #, quantity produced, time worked, scrap, etc.

  • Obtain first and last article inspection in each production run.
  • Monitor work throughout production to ensure quality.
  • Ensure parts fit dies/fixtures securely and correctly
  • Notify supervisor of rejections and any problems with clamps, fixtures or dies.
  • Select correct consumable products including gases, wire, nozzles, tips, etc. for machine and production
  • Select machine settings for heat and wire for production.
  • Welding equipment maintenance.
  • Adhere to all safety policies.
  • Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned

Requirements

  • 2 years MIG welding experience or combination of vocational training and skill. Successful completion of the Company welding test.
  • Ability to follow verbal and/or written instruction. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Must be knowledgeable and competent to operate welding equipment. Ability to select correct consumable products including gases, wires, nozzles, tips, etc., for the machine and production. Ability to select correct machine settings for heat and wire for production.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements: Welding hood, steel toe shoes, sleeves, gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection as needed.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.  

Schedule: 1st Shift | 6:00am-4:00pm | Monday-Friday
