Position Summary  
As a Commercial Controls Technician, you will be essential in installing, configuring, and commissioning Building Management Systems (BMS) for new construction projects, including schools, churches, and commercial facilities.  

This hands-on field role requires expertise in DDC controls, wiring, system integration, and platform setup. You’ll collaborate closely with Project Managers and Engineers to ensure high-quality installations are completed on schedule, while also supporting programming and system calibration on platforms such as Tridium Niagara, ABB/Cylon, Distech, Honeywell, and Johnson Controls. Must have a consistent work history.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work under the guidance of the Operations Manager to support your professional growth and success.
  • Travel to active job sites, primarily for new construction projects. Cover all of Texas and Oklahoma—from Oklahoma City (north) through San Antonio (south), east to west from El Paso to Louisiana
  • Visit 1-2 sites daily—schools, churches, commercial buildings—starting from home each morning.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and optimize control systems in various buildings, including schools, churches, and commercial facilities.
  • Collaborate with field teams, electricians, and project managers to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Represent QBS with professionalism and demonstrate exceptional technical expertise.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures including PPE requirements to perform the job safely  
Qualifications & Skills
  • 2+ years hands-on DDC/BAS troubleshooting, programming, and service
  • Proficient in ladder-logic / PLC-type programming
  • Experience with platforms like ABB/Cylon, Distech, Honeywell, Johnson Controls.  
  • Understanding of mechanical system sequences and controls
  • Quick learner for new systems and interfaces
  • Valid driver’s license, insurable record, and willingness to relocate if needed
Employment Type & Compensation
  • This is a Full-Time | Direct Hire position  
  • Pay rate is $25.00 – $35.00 per hour, based on experience
  • Application Window: Open until closed  
Work Schedule
  • 1st Shift | Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 AM
