Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Value Stream Manager to lead manufacturing operations across multiple production areas, including lamination, mining, and ITF operations. This senior-level leadership role is responsible for driving safety, quality, productivity, efficiency, and overall operational performance. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong manufacturing experience and a passion for lean principles, continuous improvement, and team development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead daily operations across the assigned value stream to meet production, quality, safety, and customer requirements.
  • Apply lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles to improve workflow, reduce waste, and increase productivity.
  • Manage, coach, and develop production and quality personnel while maintaining a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor KPIs and production data, identify performance gaps, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Partner with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, Purchasing, and other departments to resolve issues and support production goals.
  • Oversee hiring needs and staffing decisions while working closely with Human Resources.
  • Report on key performance metrics during weekly Gemba walks and other leadership meetings.
  • Coordinate shipments and communicate production and shipping schedules to the appropriate departments.
  • Work with Maintenance leadership to develop and maintain an effective Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) program.
  • Allocate personnel and resources across departments based on production demands and business priorities.
  • Manage departmental supplies and maintenance-related materials, including coordinating purchasing requests.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and improved operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements, company policies, and established safety and quality standards.
  • Perform additional duties and projects assigned by management.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or technical training is a plus.
  • 5+ years of supervisory or management experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Lean Manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand and work around manufacturing equipment.
  • Ability to operate or learn to operate equipment such as heat sealers, fabric winders, and other critical production machinery.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and manufacturing safety practices.
  • Forklift certification preferred; must be able to obtain certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to use production data and KPIs to make informed decisions.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit and stand frequently throughout the workday, including standing for extended periods of 8+ hours.
  • Ability to occasionally bend, twist, kneel, and move throughout the production environment.
  • Must be comfortable working in an active manufacturing setting and regularly interacting with production operations.
Compensation
  • $90,000 – $100,000 annually, based on experience
