Position Summary
We are seeking a Composite Spray Painter to prepare structural aviation and composite parts for priming and painting in accordance with company, customer, and FAA requirements. This position performs detailed surface preparation, masking, sanding, and painting-related work while maintaining high standards for quality, craftsmanship, and safety.
Responsibilities
- Prepare aircraft and composite parts by cleaning, sanding, masking, and performing other surface preparation tasks.
- Follow company, customer, FAA, and quality requirements, including required paperwork and signoffs.
- Use tools and equipment such as dual-action sanders, paint sprayers, and other shop equipment safely and effectively.
- Follow procedures for handling sealants, paint strippers, corrosion-preventive chemicals, paints, and thinners while using appropriate PPE.
- Properly maintain and care for painting equipment, tools, and work areas.
- Accurately track time and materials for customer jobs using the company ERP system.
- Maintain clean, organized paint areas and perform work in compliance with government, customer, and regulatory requirements.
- Work flexible hours and required overtime as needed to support production schedules.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
- 0–1 years of relevant painting, manufacturing, aerospace, composites, or related experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent hand skills, mechanical aptitude, and high standards of craftsmanship.
- Ability to interpret technical data and follow detailed instructions and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team while adapting to changing priorities and production needs.
