Position Summary

We are seeking a Manufacturing Technician 2 (Detooler) to prepare masters and molds for the production of pre-preg composite parts, operate autoclaves and ovens, and safely remove cured parts from molds. This role follows detailed work instructions and quality requirements while maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant work environment.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare masters and molds according to engineering data, quality requirements, and applicable safety data sheets.
  • Operate autoclaves and ovens according to established recipes, travelers, build manuals, and work instructions.
  • Load and unload autoclaves and ovens as required for production.
  • Demold cured composite parts and prepare them for inspection.
  • Identify and report nonconforming parts to the Lead or Manager following cure cycles or demolding.
  • Accurately record labor and materials using internal company computer systems.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area and use appropriate PPE when handling seal and release agents.
  • Perform work within certified capabilities and in compliance with government, customer, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • 0–2 years of relevant manufacturing, aerospace, composites, or shop experience preferred.
  • Ability to safely use a variety of manual and power tools.
  • Ability to read and follow detailed instructions, perform basic shop math, and produce accurate work at a rapid pace.
  • Familiarity with standard shop practices used in aerospace manufacturing is preferred.
