Position Summary
We are seeking a Manufacturing Technician 2 – Detooler to support the production of pre-preg composite parts. This hands-on role is responsible for preparing masters and molds, operating autoclaves and ovens, safely removing cured parts from molds, and preparing finished parts for inspection. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and able to follow detailed work instructions and quality requirements.
Responsibilities:
We are seeking a Manufacturing Technician 2 – Detooler to support the production of pre-preg composite parts. This hands-on role is responsible for preparing masters and molds, operating autoclaves and ovens, safely removing cured parts from molds, and preparing finished parts for inspection. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and able to follow detailed work instructions and quality requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare masters and molds according to engineering specifications, work instructions, and safety requirements.
- Operate and load/unload autoclaves and ovens using established recipes and production documentation.
- Safely demold cured composite parts and prepare them for inspection.
- Identify and report nonconforming parts to the appropriate Lead or Manager.
- Record labor and material usage accurately in company computer systems.
- Maintain a clean, safe work area and properly use required PPE and shop tools.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- 0–2 years of manufacturing, aerospace, composites, or related shop experience preferred.
- Ability to safely operate a variety of manual and power tools.
- Ability to read and follow detailed work instructions and perform basic shop math.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate, quality work.
- Familiarity with standard aerospace or composite manufacturing practices is a plus.
Schedule:
- 1st Shift | 7:30 am – 4:00 pm
Compensation:
- $22.00 – $27.00 per hour, based on experience
