Position Summary
We are seeking dependable and hardworking Warehouse Workers to join a fast-paced floral distribution and production operation in Salisbury, NC. This role supports the handling, packaging, and shipping of fresh-cut flowers in a refrigerated work environment. Successful candidates must be comfortable working in cool temperatures, possess strong physical stamina, and be able to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish.
Key Responsibilities
We are seeking dependable and hardworking Warehouse Workers to join a fast-paced floral distribution and production operation in Salisbury, NC. This role supports the handling, packaging, and shipping of fresh-cut flowers in a refrigerated work environment. Successful candidates must be comfortable working in cool temperatures, possess strong physical stamina, and be able to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and assemble shipping boxes and pallets for product distribution.
- Load, unload, move, and organize floral products and materials throughout the facility.
- Arrange, sort, and pack fresh-cut flowers according to quality and production standards.
- Assist with order preparation, palletizing, and shipment staging.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow production schedules and meet daily productivity goals.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors in a bilingual work environment.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures including PPE requirements to perform the job safely
Qualifications & Skills
- Bilingual in English and Spanish, with the ability to understand and communicate with Spanish-speaking team members.
- Ability to lift weight up to 50 pounds regularly throughout the shift.
- Strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production and warehouse environment.
- Comfortable working in refrigerated conditions (approximately 36°F in shipping areas and 40–45°F in production areas).
- Dependable attendance and punctuality are essential.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the workday.
- Flexibility to work extended hours, overtime, weekends, and peak-season schedules as required.
- Steel toe shoes/boots preferred but only closed-in shoes required
- Cold work environment, dress in layers
- PPE, such as two pairs of gloves (wool & grip gloves), are provided. Wool gloves are to be worn inside the grip gloves.
Work Environment
- Refrigerated warehouse and production facility handling fresh-cut flowers.
- Shipping area temperatures average approximately 36°F.
- Production area temperatures range from 40°F to 45°F.
- Physical work involving lifting, carrying, stacking, pallet building, and repetitive hand movements.
- Seasonal business demands may require significant overtime and extended work schedules.
Employment Type & Compensation
- This is a Temporary position
- Pay rate is $17.00 per hour
- Application Window: Open until filled
Work Schedule
- Schedule: Typically, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (off Wednesday and Sunday)
- Hours: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM/6:30 PM (until work is completed)
- Overtime: Required as needed, with shifts occasionally extending until 9:30 PM or 10:00 PM. During peak seasons (Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day), employees may work up to 7 days per week for approximately 3 consecutive weeks, with start times as early as 8:00 AM.
