Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Material Handler to join our client’s manufacturing team in Indianapolis, IN. This position is responsible for the movement, storage, and distribution of materials throughout the facility to support production and shipping operations. The ideal candidate will have experience operating material handling equipment, maintaining inventory accuracy, and working efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Material Handler to join our client’s manufacturing team in Indianapolis, IN. This position is responsible for the movement, storage, and distribution of materials throughout the facility to support production and shipping operations. The ideal candidate will have experience operating material handling equipment, maintaining inventory accuracy, and working efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Move raw materials, components, and finished goods throughout the facility using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment.
- Load and unload trucks while ensuring materials are handled safely and accurately.
- Supply production lines with necessary materials to maintain workflow and minimize downtime.
- Verify incoming and outgoing shipments against shipping documents and work orders.
- Organize and store materials in designated warehouse and production locations.
- Perform inventory transactions and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Conduct routine inspections of material handling equipment and report any issues.
- Assist with cycle counts, inventory audits, and general warehouse housekeeping duties.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures including PPE requirements to perform the job safely
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or material handling environment preferred.
- Forklift certification or the ability to obtain certification.
- Ability to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
- Basic computer skills for inventory tracking and data entry.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to read and understand work orders, shipping documents, and inventory records.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Employment Type & Compensation
- This is a Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire position
- Pay rate is $19.00 per hour + $0.75 per hour for 2nd or +$1.00 per hour for 3rd
