We are seeking a Coil Winder to support transformer manufacturing operations in Troy, MI. This role is responsible for winding wire, copper foil, and sheet coils used in transformer assemblies while ensuring adherence to work orders, blueprints, and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have prior manufacturing experience, strong blueprint comprehension, and the ability to perform physically demanding work in a production environment.

Schedule
  • 2nd Shift | 3:00pm-11:30pm  

Key Responsibilities
  • Read, comprehend, and execute work orders and blueprints to determine required materials and parts  
  • Operate coil‑winding machines to wind wire, copper foil, and sheet coils for transformer units  
  • Interpret winding diagrams and technical specifications to ensure proper coil construction  
  • Use hand tools, power tools, shears, saws, winding machines, brakes, and punches  
  • Utilize an overhead crane to safely move completed components off machines  
  • Accurately measure materials using a tape measure down to 1/16 inch  
  • Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality and specification requirements  
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area  
  • Follow all safety protocols and PPE requirements

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent  
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment  
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted  
  • Ability to stand for long periods throughout the shift  
  • Must be able to read, write, and comprehend plant directives written in English
  • Forklift operation certification preferred  
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, and measurement specifications  
  • Experience operating a brake press or punch press preferred  
  • Frequent lifting, standing, bending, and reaching required  
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards  
  • Willingness to adhere to all required PPE, including eye, hand, foot, and hearing protection
