Position Summary  
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Controller for a stable and well-established chemical manufacturing organization. The Assistant Controller’s primary role is to support their Controller and to lead key cost accounting and inventory functions. This is a newly created position driven by increased demand. The accounting team is high-performing with a streamlined month-end close (1–2 days), and this role will play a critical part in supporting complex inventory and cost structures within a process manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead cost accounting activities including standard costing, variance analysis, and overhead allocation
  • Manage inventory processes including cycle counts, physical inventory, and reconciliations
  • Analyze manufacturing costs, material usage, and margins to support operational decision-making
  • Support month-end and year-end close, including COGS and financial reporting
  • Maintain and improve ERP system accuracy related to inventory, costing, and production data
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
  • Support internal and external audits and ensure adherence to internal controls
    Identify and implement process improvements across accounting and operations
  • Serve as a backup to the Controller and support broader accounting functions as needed
Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
  • 8+ years of accounting experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong cost accounting and inventory experience required (non-negotiable)
  • Experience with standard costing, BOMs, and variance analysis
  • Advanced Excel skills required
  • ERP system experience required
  • CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred
  • Proven ability to work independently and operate in a hands-on environment
Employment Type & Compensation
  • This is a Full-Time | Direct Hire position 
  • Pay rate is $90,000 – $105,000 + Bonus per year, based on experience
  • Application Window: Open until closed  
Work Schedule
  • Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
