Position Summary

We are seeking a mid- to senior-level Controls Service Technician to troubleshoot, diagnose, program, and repair Building Management Systems (BMS) and HVAC controls. This hands-on position works with supervisory controllers, field controllers, end devices, and related wiring while supporting service calls and larger building automation projects. The ideal candidate has strong DDC experience, solid knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, and the ability to work with multiple controls platforms.

Responsibilities:
  • Respond to service calls and troubleshoot BMS, DDC, and HVAC control system issues from the supervisory controller through field devices and wiring.
  • Diagnose electrical, controls, and system performance issues and complete necessary repairs or programming adjustments.
  • Work with DDC, BAS, PLC, and ladder-logic style programming to support system operation and troubleshooting.
  • Configure, troubleshoot, and support controls platforms including Tridium Niagara, ABB/Cylon, Distech, Honeywell, and Johnson Controls/FX.
  • Apply knowledge of commercial HVAC equipment and sequences of operation to identify and resolve controls-related issues.
  • Document service activities, work performed, and system findings accurately while communicating professionally with customers, technicians, and project teams.
Requirements:
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience diagnosing, programming, and repairing DDC/BAS systems.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC controls, commercial mechanical systems, and typical sequences of operation.
  • Experience troubleshooting controls at the supervisory, field controller, end-device, and wiring levels preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with platforms such as Tridium Niagara, ABB/Cylon, Distech, Honeywell, or Johnson Controls/FX.
  • Strong computer skills, attention to detail, and ability to learn and work with multiple controls systems.
  • Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record and strong communication and customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Tridium Niagara/N4 certification is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working for a controls-focused contractor or within a dedicated controls division.
  • Ability to work independently while supporting project managers and field teams.
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
Schedule:
  • Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with occasional overtime and weekend work as required.
Compensation:
  • $35.00–$50.00 per hour, depending on experience
