We are seeking a Cost Accountant to support financial and operational performance within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for analyzing manufacturing costs, inventory transactions, operational variances, and forecasting data while partnering closely with operations, sales, and finance leadership teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Review and post daily manufacturing accounting entries
• Analyze cost and variance trends and investigate significant discrepancies
• Prepare daily operational reporting including inventory movement, sales, and cost of goods sold analysis
• Review BOMs and routers for cost accuracy
• Perform monthly inventory valuation and reconciliation of cost ledgers
• Support monthly close procedures and prepare operational journal entries
• Lead financial support for annual physical inventory and cycle count processes
• Manage excess and obsolete inventory analysis and reporting
• Develop and maintain operating forecasts and variance analysis
• Establish labor and overhead rates aligned with operating budgets
• Perform annual cost roll and inventory revaluation activities
• Utilize ERP and reporting tools to analyze operational and financial data
• Support external audits and tax preparation activities related to cost accounting
• Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, purchasing, sales, and finance teams

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of cost accounting experience within a manufacturing environment
• Strong understanding of manufacturing cost structures including labor, material, and overhead
• Experience utilizing ERP systems
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong communication and organizational skills

• 5+ years of cost accounting experience within a manufacturing environment
