Quality Control Specialist – Solar 

Department: MVE Solar 
Reports to: Solar Service & Commissioning Manager 
Work Schedule: Full Time, Monday – Friday. 
Pay Type: Hourly 

Position Summary: The Quality Control (QC) Specialist will oversee and ensure that all work performed on MVE solar project meets MVE Group’s quality standards, contractual obligations, and industry’s best practices. This role will focus exclusively as the on-site authority for construction quality verification, documentation, and compliance. 

Tasks / Duties / Responsibilities 
• Quality Oversight: Serve as the primary on-site representative for quality control, ensuring all installations adhere to MVE Group standards, project specifications, and applicable codes and project specifications. 
• Inspection & Documentation: Conduct and document daily inspections of AC/DC electrical work, mechanical installations, grounding, and safety compliance. 
• Issue Tracking & Resolution: Identify non-conformance items (NCRs), document deficiencies, and work with project management and field crews to resolve issues promptly. 
• Specification Compliance: Verify materials, equipment, and installation methods meet contractual requirements and approved submittals. • Testing Verification: Oversee quality-related testing activities, including torque checks, insulation resistance testing (IRT), continuity testing, and other required commissioning pre-checks. 
• Progress Reporting: Provide daily and weekly QC reports to the Project Manager and VP of Solar, noting completed inspections, deficiencies, and corrective actions taken. 
• Safety Collaboration: Work closely with the Safety Manager to ensure compliance with MVE safety policies and OSHA requirements. 
• Closeout Readiness: Assist in punch list creation, turnover package assembly, and as-built drawing verification. 

Qualifications 
• 2+ years of experience in commercial or utility-scale solar construction, service, quality control, commissioning, or related electrical/mechanical roles. 
• Strong understanding of NEC and solar PV installation best practices. 
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications. 
• Experience with electrical testing tools and procedures (multimeters, insulation resistance testers, torque tools). • Excellent communication and documentation skills. 
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to track multiple issues and priorities simultaneously. 
• OSHA 10/30 certification preferred. 
• NABCEP certification (PV Installation Professional or PV Commissioning & Maintenance) preferred but not required. Education, Experience, and/or Certification Requirements 
• Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and other MS365 Applications 
• Electrical or General Contracting experience preferred 
• OSHA 10 or 30 safety certification preferred
