As a Brake Press Operator, you will be responsible for setting up and operating press brake equipment to accurately bend and form materials in accordance with engineering drawings and quality standards. The ideal candidate possesses strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.  


Schedule

  • Monday-Friday | 7:00am-3:30pm

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up press brake machines by selecting and installing appropriate tooling, dies, and materials and ensure all machines are properly calibrated and aligned for accurate bending operations  
  • Operate press brake equipment to bend and form materials according to engineering drawings and specifications
  • Monitor bending operations to maintain production flow and ensure part consistency  
  • Inspect finished components using measuring tools such as calipers and gauges to verify dimensional accuracy and quality
  • Perform routine maintenance on press brake tooling and equipment and replace worn or damaged tooling as needed.
  • Troubleshoot, identify, and resolve minor machine or material issues, including deviations or malfunctions
  • Accurately record production data, machine settings, maintenance activities, and scrap information in Epicor. Complete daily production reports, tally sheets, and scrap reports  
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions
  • Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and quality personnel to meet production targets  
  • Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all company and industry safety regulations  
  • Properly wear and maintain required PPE including eye, hand, foot, and hearing protection

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Technical secondary education preferred  
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in machine operation. Previous press brake operation experience preferred    
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment or general knowledge of metalworking, bending, and tooling preferred
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend plant directives written in English      
  • Ability to perform basic math to interpret process sheets, SOPs, tally sheets, and scrap data  
  • Comfortable with frequent standing, lifting, bending, and reaching  
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly  
  • Commitment to following all PPE and safety requirements
