Position Summary
Our client, a long-standing precision machine shop serving aerospace and defense industries, is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist with strong setup experience. This role will primarily support milling operations, with additional lathe work as needed, and requires experience working with tight tolerances and precision components.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes
- Edit and adjust G-code as needed to ensure part accuracy
- Read and interpret blueprints and tolerance requirements
- Machine parts to tight tolerances using aluminum and steel materials
- Perform in-process inspections using standard measuring tools
- Troubleshoot machining issues and make necessary adjustments
- Work across both short-run and production environments
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
Requirements
- 5+ years of CNC machining experience with setup required
- Strong milling experience required (lathe experience a plus)
- Experience holding tight tolerances in a precision environment
- Familiarity with Fanuc controls preferred (Haas and Okuma acceptable)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Experience editing G-code
- Proficiency with micrometers, calipers, and indicators
- Must own basic hand tools
- Aerospace machining experience is a plus
Schedule and Pay
- Schedule: 1st Shift | Monday-Friday 6:00am-4:30pm | Friday 6:00am-3:30pm. Optional 5 hours OT Saturday.
- Pay: $24.00-$32.00 hourly, DOE
- Employment Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire
