The ideal candidate will have strong experience operating yard trucks, forklifts, and other power equipment, while maintaining a focus on safety and efficiency.
This position requires working in all weather conditions and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely move loaded and empty trailers to and from docks and yard areas as scheduled.
- Operate sit-down forklifts to unload inbound shipments, move products to storage, and prepare outbound shipments.
- Perform pre-trip inspections and complete reports before operating yard vehicles.
- Follow all yard safety protocols, including dock locks, chocks, and speed regulations.
- Load, unload, stack, stage, and transport products efficiently within the warehouse and yard.
- Use RF equipment for picking, receiving, put-away, and loading functions.
- Ensure that all inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while supporting overall warehouse safety and security.
- Perform additional duties assigned by supervisors.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Must have 2 years of spotter, yard jockey, or similar experience; Forklift certification required.
- Previous forklift operator experience required
- Ability to sit on a powered industrial truck for extended periods. Follow instructions and keep complete and legible records.
- A high degree of attention is required to prevent injury to others.
- Ability to position the body to drive backward for extended periods. Ability to judge distances and heights. Have a good sense of balance.
- Ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs. if necessary.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures, depending on the season.
