Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Yard Forklift Operator to support shipping, receiving, and material handling operations in an outdoor pipe yard. This role involves loading and unloading trucks, organizing inventory, moving materials, and preparing orders for shipment. Candidates with previous pipe yard experience are preferred, particularly those familiar with handling carbon steel and stainless-steel pipes. The ideal candidate has strong forklift operating skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing trucks, verify materials, and assist with receiving and shipping activities.
- Operate forklifts and appropriate material handling equipment to move, stage, and organize pipe and other inventory throughout the outdoor yard.
- Pick, prepare, and fill customer orders accurately for shipment.
- Sort, store, and retrieve materials according to established inventory and organizational procedures.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe yard and work area while following all safety requirements and wearing appropriate protective equipment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
Requirements:
- 3–5 years of warehouse experience, preferably in shipping and receiving.
- At least 3 years of forklift operating experience.
- Current forklift certification required.
- Previous pipe yard experience preferred; experience handling carbon steel and stainless-steel pipe is a plus.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and safely handle materials in an industrial yard environment.
- Strong work ethic, attention to safety, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to lift 10–50 pounds regularly and handle heavier materials using appropriate lifting equipment.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform physical tasks throughout the workday.
- Availability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week.
Schedule:
- 1st Shift | Monday – Friday | 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
Compensation:
- $20.00 – $24.00 per hour, based on experience
