Position Summary
We are seeking dependable and safety-focused Laydown Yard Operators to support operations at an outdoor electrical infrastructure laydown yard in Blakely, GA. This position is responsible for safely operating heavy-duty forklifts to move, organize, load, and unload materials while maintaining an organized and efficient yard. Candidates should be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions and committed to following all safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities
We are seeking dependable and safety-focused Laydown Yard Operators to support operations at an outdoor electrical infrastructure laydown yard in Blakely, GA. This position is responsible for safely operating heavy-duty forklifts to move, organize, load, and unload materials while maintaining an organized and efficient yard. Candidates should be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions and committed to following all safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate 36,000 lb. and 12,000 lb. straight mast forklifts to move materials throughout the laydown yard.
- Load, unload, stage, and organize materials to support project operations.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow established safety policies and operational procedures at all times.
- Assist with general yard duties as needed to support daily operations.
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience operating large-capacity forklifts in an industrial, construction, or outdoor yard environment.
- Experience operating 12K and/or 36K straight mast forklifts is strongly preferred.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions throughout the shift.
- Strong attention to safety and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Reliable transportation is required, as employees must travel to the job site.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move materials as needed and perform physically demanding work.
- Ability to lift weight up to 50 lbs.
- Steel toed shoes/boots required. Addition PPE provided
Employment Type & Compensation
- Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire position
- Compensation: $22.00 – $23.75 per hour, based on experience
- Application Period: This position will remain open until filled
Work Schedule
- Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
