Journeyman Commercial Plumber
This position assembles, installs, and repairs pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, and drainage systems, according to specifications and plumbing codes. This role is scheduled Monday through Friday, with 40 hours guaranteed each week. The initial assignment will be six weeks at our client’s site, with the opportunity to transition to one of six additional local projects afterward.

Pay: $30-$34 DOE
Scope of Work:
- Study building plans and working drawings to determine work aids required and sequence of installation
- Inspect structures to identify obstructions and avoid weakening the structure during pipe installation
- Locate and mark positions of pipes, connections, and passage holes in walls and floors using measuring tools
- Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipes and fittings using hand and power tools
- Cut and thread pipe using pipe cutters, cutting torches, and pipe-threading machines
- Bend pipe to required angles using a pipe bending machine or by hand
- Assemble and install valves, pipe fittings, and piping systems made of metals (iron, steel, brass, lead) and nonmetals (glass, vitrified clay, plastic)
- Join pipes using screws, bolts, fittings, solder, solvent, and caulking
- Fill pipe systems with water or air and read pressure gauges to detect leaks
- Install and repair plumbing fixtures such as sinks, toilets, bathtubs, water heaters, and softeners
- May weld holding fixtures to steel structural members
Requirements:
Must have a minimum of 3 years of commercial plumbing experience. Must be able to pass 10-panel drug screen.
