We are seeking a skilled CNC Operator with great attention to detail to join our client’s Fabrication Department in Faribault, MN. In this position, the CNC Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining both manual and CNC machining equipment while producing high-quality components that meet engineering specifications and production standards.  

Schedule
  • 1st Shift | Monday – Thursday | 5:00am-3:30pm
Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate CNC and manual equipment, including manual lathe & mill, CNC mill, laser welder, end mill, and drill press  
  • Load tools, fixtures, and materials; ensure all machines are properly calibrated and aligned  
  • Load, modify, and edit CNC programs as required to meet dimensional and tolerance specifications  
  • Interpret and work from SolidWorks engineering drawings, blueprints, and SOPs
  • Inspect completed parts using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges  
  • Identify and resolve quality issues, including tooling wear or material inconsistencies
  • Perform routine tool and machine maintenance  
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and machine malfunctions efficiently
  • Complete daily production reports, tally sheets, and scrap reports. Accurately document production data, machine settings, and maintenance activities in Epicor  
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions
  • Adhere to all company, plant, and industry safety standards  
  • Properly use required PPE, including eye, hand, foot, and hearing protection

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent. Technical secondary education preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of experience operating, setting up, and programming CNC machines with general knowledge of metalworking, bending, and tooling.  
  • Experience with SolidWorks and Mastercam preferred
  • Ability to operate both manual and CNC machines (manual lathe & mill, CNC mill)  
  • Working knowledge of G and M codes; experience editing programs preferred  
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions  
  • Proficiency with precision measuring instruments and inspection techniques  
  • Knowledge of materials including aluminum, steel, stainless steel, copper, and fiber board  
  • Mechanical aptitude and strong problem-solving skills  
  • Ability to lift weight up to 50 pounds regularly  
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend plant directives in English
  • Ability to perform basic math to interpret process sheets, SOPs, and production documentation  
  • Comfortable with frequent standing, lifting, bending, and reaching
