Commercial Construction Estimator

Our client is seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Estimator who enjoys shaping projects early, collaborating with strong teams, and building accurate, value-driven budgets. This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in the preconstruction process, working on a diverse portfolio of commercial projects from concept through contract.
What You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you’ll be involved throughout the preconstruction lifecycle, including:
- Preparing accurate and competitive estimates for commercial construction projects
- Pricing bids and evaluating alternative and value-engineered solutions
- Creating and managing bid schedules
- Reviewing plans, narratives, and concept designs to develop reliable conceptual budgets
- Identifying constructability issues and collaborating with the project team to resolve them early
- Developing value engineering strategies aligned with client goals and project budgets
- Preparing clear and detailed scope-of-work packages for subcontractors
- Participating in internal estimate reviews and assisting with final estimate presentations for owners
- Building strong working relationships with owners, architects, consultants, subcontractors, and internal team members
- Becoming a trusted resource and subject matter expert in preconstruction best practices
What Our Client Is Looking For
The ideal candidate will bring both technical estimating expertise and a collaborative mindset:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience
- Preferred 5+ years of estimating experience in commercial construction
- Proven experience with ground-up and conceptual estimating
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with healthcare, advanced industries, corporate interiors, or public-sector projects is a plus
