Position Summary

Our client, a leading manufacturer of high-quality sports equipment, is seeking a skilled MIG Welder to join their production team in Plainfield, Indiana. This position is responsible for welding and fabricating metal components used in the manufacturing of athletic equipment and related products. The ideal candidate will have experience reading blueprints, operating welding equipment, and producing quality welds while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform MIG welding on steel and other metal components according to engineering drawings and specifications.  
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and fabrication drawings to ensure accurate production.  
  • Prepare materials by measuring, cutting, grinding, and fitting components prior to welding.  
  • Inspect completed welds for quality, strength, and compliance with company standards.  
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, grinders, and other fabrication equipment safely and effectively.  
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area while following all safety policies and procedures.  
  • Assist with general fabrication and assembly tasks as needed.  
  • Report equipment issues or quality concerns to the supervisor promptly.  
  • Meet daily production goals while maintaining a high level of workmanship.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following OSHA regulations, PPE requirements, and company policies.  
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.  
  • Minimum of 2 years of MIG welding experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.  
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and measuring instruments.  
  • Experience using grinders, saws, and other metal fabrication equipment.  
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.  
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand, bend, kneel, and work in a manufacturing environment throughout the shift.
  • Welding certification is a plus but not required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with fixture setup and fabrication.  
  • Knowledge of welding symbols and metal fabrication techniques.  
  • Ability to perform basic quality inspections using measuring tools.  
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.  
  • Forklift or overhead crane experience is a plus.  
PPE Requirements
  • Welding helmet, flame-resistant sleeves or welding jacket preferred.
  • Face shield / respirator when applicable – provided.  
Employment Type & Compensation
  • This is a Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire position
  • Compensation: $20.00 per hour
  • Application Period: This position will remain open until filled
Work Schedule
  • 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
