Position Summary
The Value Stream Lead (VSL) for the Lamination Department is responsible for supervising and actively participating in the daily operations of lamination production. This role combines leadership, quality control, equipment troubleshooting, and team coordination to ensure the consistent output of high-quality laminated mining and industrial fabrics.
The core purpose of the Value Stream Line Leader is to ensure that the value stream delivers maximum business value with minimal waste, meeting or exceeding customer requirements. You will serve as the first point of contact for team members to support operational efficiency through coaching, technical expertise, and continuous improvement efforts to create a smooth, uninterrupted flow of value.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all lamination processes, ensuring quality standards are met throughout production runs.
- Monitor adhesive rates, temperatures, pressure levels, cutter specs, and equipment settings to maintain product consistency.
- Conduct inspections of finished goods and identify quality deficiencies.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving mechanical issues on lamination equipment.
- Coordinate printer programming and labeling for printed materials.
- Lead, guide, and support lamination team members in day-to-day operations.
- Serve as the first point of contact for questions or issues arising during shifts.
- Train new team members and ensure standard work procedures are followed.
- Allocate personnel effectively based on production needs and skill levels.
- Monitor inventory of raw materials, supplies, and finished goods within the lamination value stream.
- Ensure proper staging and warehousing of materials for production use and downstream departments.
- Assist with and coordinate regular inventory counts.
- Schedule and coordinate preventative maintenance of lamination equipment and auxiliary systems.
- Notify leadership of any recurring equipment issues or quality concerns related to materials.
- Generate production summaries and departmental reports as needed.
- Execute special projects or additional duties assigned by the Production Manager or Plant Manager.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures including PPE requirements
Qualifications & Skills
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Basic math aptitude
- Prior leadership experience preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Experience using and implementing Lean Manufacturing practice
- Knowledge of tow motor operations
- Ability to read gauges, weight scales and tape measures
- Basic mechanical nature
- Ability to work on various machines
- Ability to operate industrial sewing machines, heat sealers, grommet machines and rewinders
- Knowledge of Sigma Six, CAPA, and Lean Manufacturing practices
- Physical ability to lift weight up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, kneel, bend, twist, reach, and flex for extended periods
Employment Type & Compensation
- This is a temporary position
- Pay rate is $23.64 per hour
- Application Window: Open until filled
Work Schedule
- 1st Shift | Flexible start time
- 6:00 AM or 7:00 AM start time – 3:30 PM.
- Saturday, Sunday | OT as needed
