Overview
An established general contractor is seeking an experienced Project Superintendent to lead field operations on projects in Anchorage, Alaska. This role is responsible for overseeing craft personnel, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring work is executed safely, on schedule, and in compliance with contract documents.
Ideal candidates will be comfortable serving as the lead superintendent on projects valued at $15M+.
Key Responsibilities
Field Leadership & Safety
- Lead day-to-day jobsite operations
- Set and enforce a strong safety culture
- Conduct safety walks and ensure hazard analyses are current
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure work aligns with drawings, specifications, and standards
- Support inspections, testing, and record documentation
- Assist with environmental and stormwater compliance
Scheduling & Execution
- Implement and manage project schedules in the field
- Participate in weekly coordination and scheduling meetings
- Assist with short-term lookahead planning
Cost & Project Controls
- Support budget stewardship and cost tracking
- Understand production rates and schedule impacts
- Assist with minor field procurement and cost coding
Coordination & Documentation
- Coordinate subcontractors, logistics, and site access
- Assist with RFIs and field issue resolution
- Maintain as-built and project documentation
Qualifications
Required:
- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field OR comparable field experience
- OSHA 30 Certification
- Strong knowledge of construction practices and sequencing
- Ability to read/interpret plans & specifications
- Valid driver’s license with clean record
- U.S. Citizenship (federal project requirements)
Preferred:
- USACE / CQM Certification
- Experience leading $15M+ projects
- Experience with Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam
