Safety Engineer
The Safety Engineer will work within the our Services team providing guidance to customers. Safety Engineers will visit customer sites to assist in the completion of Risk Assessments, provide safety reports, and review electrical circuits. The person in this position will work closely with customers to provide directions on the components to be used in the recommended solutions.
Job Description
- Provide machinery safety expertise and knowledge via written and verbal project assignments
- Maintain up to date knowledge of applicable standards
- Provide weekly updates on current projects
- Conduct varying types of Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessments
- Review safety control circuits and calculate the safety performance levels
- Work independently as needed
Minimum Qualifications
- Field experience working with or on industrial machinery
- Ability to read electrical prints
- Ability to interpret/troubleshoot electrical schematics and control circuits
- Solve and verify math formulas as established in IEC 61508 and ISO 13849
- Willingness to learn our products and procedures
- Self-motivated, well-organized, and team oriented
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechatronics or similar program
- Familiar with safety standards such as ISO 13849 and ANSI B11
- Familiar with risk assessment process
- Competency in electrical controls with a focus in safety
Travel will be required up to 75%
