Position Summary
We are seeking a Production Shop Assistant to support daily operations for a leading aerospace and defense manufacturer. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role responsible for moving materials, tooling, and parts between facilities and production areas while also assisting with shipping, receiving, local deliveries, and general production support.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the movement of tooling, parts, and materials between production areas and nearby facilities.
- Safely load, unload, transport, package, and secure materials, equipment, and shipments.
- Support shipping and receiving activities, including inventory control, material tracking, and documentation.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment as needed.
- Complete local deliveries and pickups using company vehicles while following safe driving practices.
- Perform routine equipment and vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
- Adapt to changing production priorities while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED with 1–2 years of experience in warehouse operations, material handling, logistics, production support, or a related field preferred
- Forklift experience preferred, with the ability to safely operate material-handling equipment in busy production or warehouse environments
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and ability to successfully complete a DOT physical
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and regularly stand, bend, crouch, kneel, reach, and perform work in a physically active setting
Schedule:
- 1st Shift | Monday – Friday | 7:30 am – 4:00 pm
Compensation:
- $41,600 – $52,000 per year, based on experience
