Nationwide work for Marine & Defense contracts involving specialized, large-scale industrial processes designed to prevent corrosion, enhance safety, and maintain the structural integrity of vessels.
  • Surface Preparation: This is a crucial, high-prep phase involving the removal of rust, old paint, and marine growth via methods like abrasive blasting, high-pressure water jetting, or chemical stripping.
  • Coating Application: Specialized protective coatings, including polyurea, ceramic epoxy, and anti-fouling, are applied to underwater hulls, tanks, bilges, and decks to prevent deterioration and reduce fuel-consuming drag.
  • Environmental Control: Containment systems are used to prevent dust, blast media, and toxins from entering the environment during sandblasting.
  • Safety and Standards: Work is guided by strict NAVSEA standards, particularly for U.S. Navy vessels, to ensure quality and prevent premature coating failure.
Pay: $28+ depending on location, certification and specialty.
