Position Overview
We are seeking skilled General Machinists for a growing manufacturer located in Paw Paw, MI. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on mechanical work, can operate a wide range of manual and CNC machinery, and takes pride in producing high-quality, precision components. This isn’t a button-pushing role—we’re looking for a solid machinist capable of setups, making offsets/edits, running parts, and performing quality checks from start to finish.

We are seeking skilled General Machinists for a growing manufacturer located in Paw Paw, MI. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on mechanical work, can operate a wide range of manual and CNC machinery, and takes pride in producing high-quality, precision components. This isn’t a button-pushing role—we’re looking for a solid machinist capable of setups, making offsets/edits, running parts, and performing quality checks from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up machines, pull existing programs, make edits/offsets, and run production parts.
- Operate equipment such as Vertical Mills, Surface & OD Grinders, Boring Mills, Engine Lathes, Saws, and Drill Presses.
- Perform mechanical assembly, general machine repair, and maintenance of equipment.
- Conduct preventive maintenance, machine parts, and ensure accuracy throughout each step.
- Inspect parts using micrometers and other precision tools to ensure quality specifications are met.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and mechanical/electrical diagrams.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Collaborate with team members while also carrying out work independently.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures including PPE requirements to perform the job safely
Qualifications & Skills
- 1–3 years of machining experience (manual or CNC).
- Ability to read micrometers (depth, inside, outside) and perform accurate measurements.
- Understanding mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical troubleshooting.
- Strong communication skills—both written and verbal.
- Ability to set up machines and confidently run parts (not a basic operator role).
- Basic computer literacy and solid math skills.
- Ability to lift 50–75 lbs. and handle shop-floor physical demands.
- Reliable, punctual, detail-oriented, and able to multitask.
- A willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed.
- Must provide your own tools (list provided at the interview).
Employment Type & Compensation
- This is a Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire position
- Pay rate is $19.00 – $25.00 per hour, based on experience

Work Schedule
- 1st Shift | Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
