Position Summary

Key Responsibilities
We are seeking a skilled Machinist in Springfield, MO to support precision manufacturing operations in a fast-paced machine shop environment. This position is ideal for candidates with experience programming, setting up, and operating both CNC and manual machining equipment. Successful candidates will possess strong attention to detail, the ability to work with tight tolerances, and a commitment to producing high-quality components safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Program, set up, and operate CNC and/or manual machines
- Machine parts to meet dimensional tolerances within ±0.005"
- Plan sequences of cuts and finishes on routine machining projects
- Inspect machined parts to drawing specifications using personal measuring tools
- Read and use measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, and tape measures
- Safely operate powered industrial trucks (forklifts) and overhead cranes to load/unload materials
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure a safe work environment
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures including PPE requirements to perform the job safely
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous machining experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experienced with stainless steel preferred
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and dimensional tolerances
- Working knowledge of fractions, decimals, and basic math
- Basic computer skills for machine programming and documentation
- Understanding of safe machining practices and shop protocols
- Strong understanding of shop mathematics, mechanics, and fabrication procedures
- Expert-level knowledge of abrasives, metal conditions, and finish standards
Employment Type & Compensation
- This is a Full-Time | Tem-to-Hire position
- Pay rate is $22.25 – $26.25 per hour, based on experience
