As a Laydown Yard Supervisor, you will oversee daily operations at a large outdoor inventory yard supporting high-voltage utility projects. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who brings strong equipment experience, accountability, and the ability to lead from the front.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities within an outdoor laydown yard
- Operate Class 7 heavy-duty forklifts and telehandlers to unload and move materials
- Oversee unloading of flatbed trucks carrying large utility materials (poles, high-voltage components, etc.)
- Organize and maintain accurate inventory placement throughout the yard
- Ensure safe handling, storage, and staging of oversized and heavy materials
- Lead by example while enforcing safety protocols and maintaining a productive workflow
Job Requirements
- Proven experience operating Class 7 forklifts and/or telehandlers (required)
- Prior experience in a laydown yard, construction yard, or outdoor material handling environment
- Supervisory or team lead experience preferred
- Ability to safely handle large, heavy, and oversized materials
- Strong awareness of jobsite safety standards and best practices
- First Aid and CPR certification preferred
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Work Environment
- Fully outdoor laydown yard (no traditional warehouse setting)
- Mobile office trailer onsite
- Work involves heavy equipment operation and physical activity
Work Schedule
- Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
