Key Responsibilities
We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Forklift Operator to join our team in Oakwood, GA. In this role, you will be responsible for operating a forklift to move, locate, stack, and count merchandise. The ideal candidate will have experience operating a powered industrial truck, values workplace safety, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a forklift to safely transport materials throughout the warehouse and designated work areas.
- Loading and unloading goods from vehicles such as trucks.
- Checking loads is secure.
- Moving goods packed on pallets or in crates around the storage facility.
- Stacking goods in the correct storage bays, following inventory control instructions.
- Removing machine attachments and waste material from machines.
- Dumping materials into machine hoppers.
- Inspect products and materials for quality and report any discrepancies or damage.
- Conduct pre-shift equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns.
- Recharging the truck’s battery and lubricating equipment.
- Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and OSHA guidelines while maintaining a clean work environment.
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience operating a powered industrial truck (forklift) in a warehouse or distribution environment preferred.
- Ability to remain seated while operating a forklift for extended periods, including driving in reverse for long durations.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately judge distances, heights, and surrounding hazards.
- Good math, language, and reading skills.
- Follow instructions for operating equipment and keeping records.
- Execute assignments in an accurate, timely, and safe manner.
- May be required to use RF scanner gun.
- A valid state driver's license and a clean motor vehicle record may be required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit on a powered industrial truck positioning body to drive backward for long periods of time.
- Have a good sense of balance
- Must have good hand-eye coordination
- Ability to judge distance and heights.
- Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Ability to work in varying indoor and outdoor temperatures depending on seasonal conditions.
Employment Type & Compensation
- Temporary
- Compensation: $18.00 per hour
- Application Period: This position will remain open until filled
Work Schedule
- Monday – Friday | 7:30 AM – Until the job is completed
