Job Summary
We are searching for an experienced Engineering Technician to support the Noise, Vibration, and Harshness (NVH) and Structural test teams for a leading manufacturer. In this role, you will engage in developing and validating the noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) and component performance of snowmobiles. This includes instrumentation, data acquisition, subjective evaluation, and fundamental data analysis.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are searching for an experienced Engineering Technician to support the Noise, Vibration, and Harshness (NVH) and Structural test teams for a leading manufacturer. In this role, you will engage in developing and validating the noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) and component performance of snowmobiles. This includes instrumentation, data acquisition, subjective evaluation, and fundamental data analysis.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct mechanical and NVH testing of vehicle components and systems to support product development.
- Assist with problems that arise in product development by performing assessments, identifying root causes, and resolving issues.
- Set up and execute tests; collect and analyze data independently or as part of a team.
- Maintain and calibrate test equipment and lab systems.
- Support design improvements through NVH/component validation and feedback.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support team and project goals.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

- Effective communication and organizational skills
- Familiarity or exposure to new product development/engineering processes
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to operate or learn to operate Polaris snowmobile products
- 2+ years related technical experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to plan, prioritize, and follow through on tasks
- Understanding of lab safety protocols and PPE compliance
Preferred (Nice to have)
- 2-year technology degree
- 4+ years related technical experience
- Basic understanding of sound measurements and data acquisition techniques (training provided)
- Hands-on knowledge of snowmobile systems
- Familiarity with interpreting CAD models and mechanical drawings
- General fabrication skills (e.g., welding, machining)
- CDL or willingness to obtain (for transporting test equipment and vehicles)
Bonus (Ideal)
- 4-year technology degree (e.g., industrial technology management, engineering technology, etc.)
- Experience in sound measurements and data acquisition techniques
WORK CONDITIONS:
- Fast-paced, hands-on environment with up to 25% travel (seasonal, primarily in winter months)
- Work performed in shop, test lab, field, and office settings
- Participation in team and project meetings
- Exposure to running test equipment and vehicles in lab environments (eye and hearing protection required)
- Outdoor testing in winter conditions; extended hours may be required during peak test season
- Exposure to potentially high-noise environments during testing (hearing protection provided)
- Frequent collaboration with engineering and product development teams
- Willingness to work overtime as needed
- Physical requirements: Lift up to 40lbs, Push/Pull up to 100lbs, bend, kneel, squat, and reach overhead
Schedule: 1st shift | 7:00am-3:30pm | Monday – Friday
