Job Summary

We are seeking a Controls Engineer to support and improve automated systems within a fast-paced manufacturing and material handling environment. This role focuses on troubleshooting, system optimization, and continuous improvement to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with automation and control systems  
  • Support conveyors, sortation systems, scanners, and related equipment  
  • Work with PLCs, VFDs, servo drives, and motor control systems  
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions  
  • Partner with operations and maintenance to improve system performance  
  • Monitor system metrics and recommend efficiency improvements  
  • Support installation, upgrades, and maintenance of automation equipment  
  • Provide technical support and escalate complex issues when needed  
  • Train and mentor technicians on troubleshooting and best practices  

Qualifications & Skills
  • Experience with industrial automation, controls, or maintenance  
  • Working knowledge of PLCs and electrical systems  
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability  
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and technical documents  
  • Experience working cross-functionally with teams or vendors  

Preferred 
  • Experience with material handling systems (conveyors, sortation)  
  • Familiarity with OSHA standards and 5S/lean practices  
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience
