Job Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Assistant Supervisor – WIP/Kitting (2nd Shift) to support daily production operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role partners closely with the Supervisor to lead assembly team activities, coordinate workflow, and ensure production, quality, and safety standards are consistently met. The Assistant Supervisor will provide floor-level leadership, support process improvements, and help develop team members while maintaining accurate production documentation and inventory control.
We are seeking a hands-on Assistant Supervisor – WIP/Kitting (2nd Shift) to support daily production operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role partners closely with the Supervisor to lead assembly team activities, coordinate workflow, and ensure production, quality, and safety standards are consistently met. The Assistant Supervisor will provide floor-level leadership, support process improvements, and help develop team members while maintaining accurate production documentation and inventory control.
Responsibilities
- Support the Supervisor in leading assembly team operations and coordinating daily workflows
- Guide team members, answer questions, and assist with troubleshooting on the production floor
- Perform visual quality inspections and assist with basic root-cause evaluations
- Track production output, downtime, and cycle times using ERP software (Epicor or similar)
- Train and cross-train team members on processes, equipment, and safety standards
- Promote and enforce PPE, LOTO, and 5S safety standards; conduct toolbox talks
- Identify improvement opportunities and support Lean/continuous improvement initiatives
- Assist with inventory control and maintain accurate production and quality documentation
- Prepare shift updates and communicate effectively with leadership and team members
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 2+ years of manufacturing or assembly experience
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physically active work
- Strong communication skills and team-oriented mindset
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of leadership or team lead experience in assembly
- Electrical or mechanical assembly experience
- ERP experience (Epicor preferred); proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of Lean principles, 5S, and continuous improvement
- Strong coaching and people leadership abilities
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
Schedule:
- 2nd Shift | Monday-Thursday | 3:30pm-2:00am
