NCW is partnering with a leading metal fabrication and manufacturing company in Fresno, CA to hire experienced Forming Operators (Press Brake Operators) for both 1st and 2nd shifts.
This position is ideal for skilled fabricators who understand the art and science of metal forming. We're looking for individuals who can independently set up and operate press brakes, interpret drawings, select tooling, and consistently produce high-quality parts within tight tolerances.

Position Summary:
The Forming Operator is responsible for producing precision-formed metal components using CNC press brakes and forming equipment. This role requires expertise in machine setup, tooling selection, bend sequencing, blueprint interpretation, and quality verification.
Successful candidates will have experience working with a variety of material types and thicknesses while consistently maintaining dimensional accuracy and production efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC press brakes and forming equipment safely and efficiently
- Interpret blueprints, work orders, drawings, and specifications to determine forming requirements
- Select appropriate tooling, dies, punches, and machine settings based on material type and part specifications
- Produce high-quality formed metal components while maintaining critical tolerances
- Perform machine setups, program adjustments, and tooling changes as required
- Calculate bend allowances, bend deductions, tonnage requirements, and forming sequences
- Modify programs and machine parameters to improve efficiency and maintain part quality
- Perform first-piece, in-process, and final quality inspections
- Verify dimensions, bend angles, flange lengths, and overall conformance to customer specifications
- Support additional forming operations, including plate rolls and specialty forming equipment
- Perform routine machine maintenance and basic troubleshooting
Preferred Experience:
- Previous experience as a Forming Operator, Press Brake Operator, Metal Fabricator, or related manufacturing role
- Strong CNC Press Brake setup and operation experience
- Ability to independently set up multiple machines and maintain repeatable quality
- Experience holding tight tolerances:
- ±0.010" dimensional tolerance
- ±0.1° bend angle tolerance
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and work instructions
- Knowledge of:
- Tool selection
- Bend sequencing
- Material behavior
- Tonnage calculations
- Bend radius requirements
- Flange development
- Experience with bump forming, radius forming, and cone forming techniques
- Ability to manually lay out and form parts when standard gauging methods cannot be utilized
- Strong understanding of quality inspection tools and measurement techniques
- Ability to troubleshoot setups and make real-time program adjustments to maintain tolerances
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift, move, and handle metal materials throughout the shift
- Ability to work safely around fabrication machinery and moving equipment
- Ability to wear required PPE and work in an industrial manufacturing environment
