Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Welder/Fabricator to join our client’s manufacturing team in Mishawaka, IN. This position is responsible for fabricating, fitting, and welding structural steel and heavy industrial components according to engineering drawings, blueprints, and production specifications. The ideal candidate will have strong welding and fabrication skills, experience working with a variety of hand and power tools, and the ability to produce high-quality work while maintaining safety, accuracy, and productivity standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret, fabricate, and build heavy industrial weldments to print.
  • Read and apply bills of material, perform fabrications according to workflow routings, and work orders.
  • Comply with all company safety and conduct rules.
  • Record all performed daily work into Laidig computer systems.
  • Provide and maintain your own hand tools, steel-toed footwear and prescription safety glasses.  
  • Setup and fabricate weldments using modern fixturing and layout tables.
  • Carry out and perform verbal instructions, maintain and fill out written documents, perform work in accordance with OSHA lifting guidelines.  
  • Perform welding operations using SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, GTAW.
  • Perform material removal, cutting and heating operations with oxy-fuel torches and carbon arc gouging  
  • Use hand drills, punches, and shears.
  • Use overhead and jib cranes to move heavy weldments and misc hand operated material handling equipment.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures including PPE requirements to perform the job safely
  • All necessary PPE is provided, including safety glasses, earplugs, jackets, and breathable weld helmets
Qualifications & Skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent or technical schooling certification
  • 3+ years of welding fabrication experience desired
  • Must be able to pass a weld and blueprint reading test  
  • Knowledge of equipment and tools being used
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools
  • Attention to detail
  • Report all performed into computer system
Employment Type & Compensation
  • This is a Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire position
  • Pay rate is $28.00 – $35.00 per hour, based on experience
  • Application Window: Open until filled  
Work Schedule
  • Monday – Friday | 6:30 AM – 3:15 PM
