Position Summary
We are searching for an entry-level Grinder/Machine Operator to join our client’s growing metals processing team. This role is ideal for someone looking to start or build a career in manufacturing. In this position, you will work hands-on with steel and aluminum products, supporting grinding and machine operations in a fast-paced production environment.

We are searching for an entry-level Grinder/Machine Operator to join our client’s growing metals processing team. This role is ideal for someone looking to start or build a career in manufacturing. In this position, you will work hands-on with steel and aluminum products, supporting grinding and machine operations in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform continuous metal grinding throughout the shift (primary responsibility)
- Operate PLC-controlled equipment using push buttons and HMIs
- Grind and polish steel and aluminum sheets, plates, and coils
- Assist with coil processing (slitting, buffing, polishing, cut-to-length)
- Inspect materials using tape measures, calipers, and basic tools
- Move materials using forklifts and overhead cranes (training provided)
- Package and prepare finished materials for shipment
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures including PPE requirements to perform the job safely
Qualifications & Skills
- Entry-level – 1–2 years of manufacturing experience preferred
- Ability to read instructions and use a tape measure
- Basic math and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable using or learning basic computer systems
- Reliable, motivated, and able to work independently
- Willingness to learn equipment like forklifts and cranes
- Strong attention to detail and safety
- Physical ability to lift weight up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work for extended periods while standing, bending, reaching, using arms and hands, lifting
- PPE required: steel toes, safety glasses/goggles, hearing protection
Employment Type & Compensation
- This is a Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire position
- Pay rate is $20.00 per hour
- Application Window: Open until filled
Work Schedule
- 1st Shift | Monday – Friday | 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
- Overtime as needed
