Meet Kayleen Mccabe

NCW’s Brand Ambassador

Kayleen McCabe is a licensed contractor, national television personality, and passionate advocate for the skilled trades with more than two decades of hands-on industry experience. Her path into construction began with a lifelong curiosity for building, paired with a natural drive to help people.

After initially exploring college and realizing it wasn’t the right fit, Kayleen stepped into a role as a 911 dispatcher, continuing her commitment to service. From there, an unexpected opportunity in television production opened the door to a career in media, where she spent years telling stories and eventually hosted her own show centered on construction and home improvement.
Her journey has taken her from dispatch centers to job sites to television sets, and even back into the field, where she intentionally immersed herself in every aspect of residential construction to better understand the realities of the trades.

Over time, she developed a deeper appreciation for the need for clearer, more accurate storytelling around the construction industry. That realization was a turning point, inspiring her to use her platform more intentionally and advocate for greater transparency and respect for the trades.
Today, Kayleen leverages her unique blend of real-world construction experience and media expertise to advocate for authenticity in the industry and to champion the next generation of tradespeople. As NCW’s spokesperson, she brings that mission forward, encouraging individuals to see the value, opportunity, and impact of building a career in the skilled trades.

Early Perspective and Growth

Kayleen’s journey into construction wasn’t traditional, but it was driven by a lifelong passion for working with her hands. Like many people entering the trades, she faced challenges early on, especially learning how to navigate the fast-paced environment of a job site. Over time, she realized that what initially felt personal was often part of the culture of pushing one another to improve and grow. That experience taught her resilience and the importance of leaving assumptions at the door and focusing on the work itself.

While many know Kayleen for her outgoing personality on television and on job sites, she describes herself as surprisingly quiet off the clock. As an only child who enjoys solitude, she spends much of her free time recharging at home, working on projects around the house, gardening, gaming, and diving into her love of math and space exploration.

The Future of Construction

Kayleen believes the future of construction is incredibly promising as innovation continues to improve the industry through smarter tools, safer equipment, and evolving job site standards that allow workers to build longer, healthier careers. At the same time, she believes the true foundation of construction will always be the people behind the work. In her experience, the success of any project depends on having passionate, skilled individuals on the job site, because no amount of technology can replace the craftsmanship, dedication, and energy that workers bring to the spaces they build.

Partnership With NCW

After spending more than 15 years advocating for workforce development and educating people about career paths beyond traditional college routes, Kayleen immediately connected with NCW’s mission. She often speaks to students, parents, and future professionals about the value of trade schools, apprenticeships, and skilled trades careers. Partnering with NCW gave her another trusted resource to recommend.
What stood out most to her was NCW’s genuine investment in people. Kayleen believes the company’s commitment to supporting field employees, building relationships, and leading with strong core values is something that sets them apart in the industry. For her, the partnership felt natural because it aligned so closely with her own mission of advocating for and uplifting tradespeople.
