Job Summary
We are seeing an experienced Control Wiring Technician in the Arlington area. In this position, you will install, assemble, and maintain the control wiring systems in compliance with electrical codes and safety standards. This role partners with engineers, QA/QC, and the Controls Foreman to support new projects, troubleshoot systems, update schematics, and build BOMs. Responsibilities also include maintaining shop organization, inventory of materials, and contributing experience toward process improvements while adhering to all PPE and safety requirements.
Responsibilities
We are seeing an experienced Control Wiring Technician in the Arlington area. In this position, you will install, assemble, and maintain the control wiring systems in compliance with electrical codes and safety standards. This role partners with engineers, QA/QC, and the Controls Foreman to support new projects, troubleshoot systems, update schematics, and build BOMs. Responsibilities also include maintaining shop organization, inventory of materials, and contributing experience toward process improvements while adhering to all PPE and safety requirements.
Responsibilities
- Install and assemble control wiring systems according to specifications and electrical schematics.
- Ensure all wiring is completed in compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on control wiring systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Update wiring diagrams and schematics as necessary
- Work closely with engineers and other technicians to design and implement control systems for new projects
- Work with QA/QC Technicians to test control wiring systems to verify functionality and compliance with specifications.
- Work closely with Controls Foreman to build and pick BOMS (bill of materials)
- Help in the set-up and layout of new shop space
- Help maintain stock and consumable materials
- Help maintain clean shop, yard and storage areas
- Must adhere to all the PPE requirements to perform the job safely, this includes but is not limited to eye, hand, feet, and hearing protection
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Journeyman Electrician
- Experience 3+ years in commercial electrical or facilities management environments
- Awareness of electrical standards or compliance certifications (UL, ETL, CSA)
- Understand principles of electricity, electrical components, and physics pertinent to, and methods used in testing electric equipment.
- Ability to use the NEC 2020 code book on products to make sure they meet code standards
- Knowledge of Hazards involved in working on or near energized equipment and proper safety precautions.
- Ability to problem solve.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and organize efficiently.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on an intermittent basis
Schedule: 1st shift | Monday-Friday | 7:00am – 3:30pm
