A top Indiana chemical distribution company is in immediate need of a Traffic Logistics Manager to work in the Indianapolis facility. Serving a large variety of industries, the company offers bulk, packaged, and laboratory chemicals, as well as raw materials and formulated products. This candidate would report directly to the VP of Supply Chain Management

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field, or two years of related experience  
  • Three plus years' experience in operating private fleet or commercial/for hire fleet  
  • Computer skills Microsoft Office Suites, Inventory Software  
  • Contract Management Systems, Development software, Project Management Software  
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills  
  • Ability to lead/motivate a team

What You’ll Do  
  • Manage all modes of transportation: FTL, LTL Liquid Bulk, Intermodal, Air, Ocean and Maintain all permits, registrations, and licenses required by DOT, FMCSA  
  • Ensure all fleet operations operate within established budget and are in compliance  
  • Manage the fleet maintenance program, including contract management. Manage a team of four including a truck driver, expeditor, Mays 3PL partner, and import/export    
  • Design and maintain company security programs/procedures as required by DOT, FMCSA.  
  • Establishes schedules for drivers and ensures they have appropriate customer instructions  
  • Work in collaboration with Mays’ 3PL Partners to establish KPI and freight lanes  
  • Track and analyze monthly and quarterly profitability and KPI
