An established firm on the north side of Indianapolis is currently hiring an experienced Food Ingredient Sales Account Manager. Responsible for both management of existing accounts as well as new client acquisition, this individual will be responsible for selling raw ingredients to food and beverage manufactures nationwide. This is a remote position with intermittent travel to meet in-person with clients and client prospects.  Bonus opportunities and commission pay.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry or related field needed  
  • 3+ years of sales experience, selling to ingredient manufacturers  
  • Well-versed in vitamin dosage applications and vitamin pre-blends  
  • Strong understanding and experience with nutritional ingredients  
  • Ability to discuss technical ingredient elements with R&D contacts  
  • Self-motivated, with excellent presentation, negotiating, and communication skills  
  • Flexibility to travel throughout the US  
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

What You’ll Do  
  • Responsible for increasing sales by developing current and prospective client accounts  
  • Builds strong multi-level relationships with key suppliers, customers, as well as procurement, R&D, and quality assurance  
  • Assess customer product needs and requirements to achieve budget sales goals  
  • Attend industry-related trade shows while representing the company and identifying opportunities  
  • Monitor and analyze trends and products to report on business opportunities in target markets  
  • Responsible for developing and expanding relationships within the food, beverage and beverage industries  
  • Proactively maintain knowledge of changes and trends in the food/beverage and related industries
