Inside Sales Representative
Location: Hawthorne, NY or Fishers, IN
Our client is a safety industry leading manufacturer of Machine Safety Products, Industrial Switches, Position Sensor, and Control Accessories. This 70-year-old firm is focused on ways to protect machinery operators and maintenance personnel from recognized hazards in compliance with current local and international standards, without compromising productivity.
We have an exciting opportunity for an Inside Salesperson to join our sales team. In this role you will support our sales channel with incoming requests and contact leads that have questions about our products and services. Additionally, The Inside Sales Representative will identify, nurture, and qualify potential customers using existing leads from tradeshows, publications, the website, and other marketing activities. The person in this role will be the first interaction with potential customers and will be tasked with ensuring the needs of the customer match our product and technology core competencies.
This is a full-time role Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 4:45 pm.
Responsibilities
- Promptly provide all necessary information required by customers and outside sales team members
- Provide follow up and coordination on quotations and corresponding orders to customers and sales teams
- Form and nurture relationships with new and existing customers and distributors
- Assist with website inquiries and phone support
- Evaluate and answer customer technical questions and complaints
- Develop product knowledge on Schmersal products and services
- People-focused: be ready to answer questions and provide support when called on
- TEAM player. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must
Ideal Experience:
- 2-4 Year college degree in Business, Engineering, or other technical discipline related to electrical preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of customer service or inside sales experience. Preferably in the automation industry
Qualifications
- Effective communication skills
- Excellent customer service and administrative skills are required
- Well-organized with excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must be comfortable in nurturing a professional rapport and building relationships with new contacts
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with CRM systems preferred
- Knowledge of SAP is a bonus
- Ability to develop and maintain a positive working relationship with others
